Nestora PropertyDiscovery
A personal WordPress property-discovery platform with a custom FMLS listing plugin, structured fictional listings, advanced search filters, saved homes, and comparison tools.
Project Breakdown
Nestora is an original personal WordPress real estate website concept built to show how a property search website can feel like a modern product rather than a generic agency template. It uses fictional homes and local mock data only - no client listings, client branding, or unlicensed MLS data are included. The experience is designed around the questions buyers actually ask: which area fits their lifestyle, how properties compare on price and space, and whether a home is worth saving for later. At its core, Nestora uses a custom PHP FMLS listing plugin with a structured Property post type, reusable taxonomies for city, area, and property type, plus custom fields for price, bedrooms, bathrooms, floor area, and key amenities. The plugin is designed to normalize authorized FMLS listing fields when a valid data agreement is available, while the public portfolio demo stays on fictional data. That structure supports fast property browsing, AJAX filtering, focused property detail pages, saved-home interactions stored in the browser, and a side-by-side comparison flow. The visual direction is intentionally editorial and product-led: high-quality property photography, compact market context, neighborhood insights, and search controls that work like a serious discovery tool. The project demonstrates WordPress development beyond a page-builder site - combining custom plugin architecture, content modeling, responsive interface work, and a real-estate search experience that can grow as more properties are added.
The Problem
Creating a WordPress property search website that feels product-led and fast, while keeping authorized FMLS listing fields, filters, saved homes, and comparison points structured enough to scale.
How It Was Solved
Designed a custom PHP FMLS listing plugin with structured content fields, reusable taxonomies, authorized-field normalization, AJAX-powered filtering, browser-based saved homes, and a comparison-ready data model. The interface pairs those tools with neighborhood context and fictional listing data so the experience remains original and portfolio-safe.

Design Process
Scope in Writing
Requirements, pages and features are captured in a written scope before any work starts - so both sides know exactly what's being built.
Fixed Quote
One written price for the agreed scope. No hourly meters, no creeping invoices - changes are quoted separately before they happen.
Build with Staging Links
The project goes up on a private staging link early. You watch it take shape and click through real pages instead of waiting for a big reveal.
Written Updates & Review
Progress, decisions and feedback stay in writing - so nothing gets lost in calls and every revision has a clear reference.
Launch + 30-Day Support
Deployment, forms, metadata, analytics and mobile layout all get checked before go-live - then I stay available for fixes and questions for 30 days.
Tech Stack
Every build gets the same treatment: fast load times, clean code the next developer can read, and details checked on real devices before launch.
Frequently Asked
Everything you might want to know about this project - the process, the stack, and how it can scale.
How long does a project like this take?+
A build of this scope typically takes 2-6 weeks depending on features and feedback speed. You get a clear milestone schedule up front, with demo links as each part ships.
Which technologies were used?+
WordPress, PHP, FMLS Listing Plugin, AJAX Filters - chosen for speed, maintainability, and how well they fit this project's goals, not for trend value.
Can you build something similar for me?+
Yes. Tell me what you need on the contact page and I'll reply with a written plan and a fixed quote. If your idea is different from this project, that's fine - most builds start from a rough idea, not a spec.
Can the project be scaled further?+
Yes. The architecture is modular, so new features, pages, and integrations can be added without rewriting what already works.
